Terms and Conditions

  1. Beatson Cancer Charity Bumper Car Giveaway is kindly supported by Arnold Clark and is open to all UK residents. To be eligible to enter the prize draw, a person must be 18 years of age or older.  If an entry is made unknowingly to, on behalf of, or for a person under the age of 18, they will be exempt from the draw and will forfeit their prize, if any.  In such an event, the Charity shall decide at its full discretion the appropriate course of action in respect of such forfeited prize; 

  2. The opening date for entries will be Tuesday 14th June 2022;

  3. The closing date of the prize draw is 17:00 on Friday 9th December 2022. Entries received after this time will not be accepted and any late purchases will be gratefully received as a donation to Beatson Cancer Charity;  

  4. Routes of entry and cost:

    v. £100 = 250 entries (maximum per entry)

  5. The maximum number of entries is limited to £100 (one hundred) per entry.

  6. Please note, payment for entries can only be made by way of debit card; 

  7. QR Code* - you will be able to enter via the QR Code found on our website, newsletter, e-news, promotional materials, promotional car and at a variety of external events throughout the summer;

  8. Additional incentive draws will take place at various venues throughout the duration of the prize draw period and will include an additional “spot prize” at each of these events, however, all players that have purchased tickets or submitted an entry through the free postal entry route will still be entered in the prize draw;

All free entries must be submitted by ordinary first or second class post to the address below and only one entry per postcard/letter is permitted;

Write your name, full address including postcode, contact phone number and email address on a blank sheet of paper or postcard to:

This needs to be written very clearly. Illegible or partially legible entries will be deemed invalid. Postal entries must be received by us by the closing date set out in condition 3 above.  We cannot accept liability for lost, late or delayed entries or for entries received with postage due, all of which will be ineligible for entry into The Beatson Bumper Car Prize Draw and confidentiality destroyed.  We will not inform you if your entry is rejected.  No printed or other mechanically produced entries will be accepted;

  1. By entering Beatson Cancer Charity Bumper Car Giveaway, the participant agrees to provide, at a minimum, their name, address, and contact information.  Such personal data of the participants will be used by the Charity for the purposes of administration of the prize draw and on the legal basis of our contract with you under these terms and conditions.  For more information, please refer to the Charity’s privacy policy;
     
  2. In processing any personal data relating to the entrants we will at all times comply with the provisions of the Data Protection Act 1998 and General Data Protection Regulation of 2018;

  3. Beatson Cancer Charity cannot accept responsibility for any technical interruption, fault or site failure when purchasing online. Beatson Cancer Charity cannot take any responsibility for incomplete purchases.  Any incomplete purchases will not be considered valid for entry into the prize draw.  Beatson Cancer Charity cannot accept responsibility for any purchases which are not completed for any reason;

  4. A winner will be chosen by random number generator at Sterling Management Centre Limited’s offices on Wednesday 14th December 2022. The draw mechanism will not distinguish between entries made through the free or the paid method of entry;

  5. The winner will receive a HYUNDAI I10 kindly donated by Arnold Clark. The vehicle will have accumulated mileage upon delivery.  The car shall be owned by Arnold Clark in the first instance, before ownership is transferred to the winner of the prize draw. The car will be taxed and insured by Arnold Clark until the point of transfer of ownership to the winner.  At the point of transfer of ownership, the Winner will be solely responsible for tax, insurance and all other future expenses relating to the prize;

  6. The prize will be collected by the winner from Arnold Clark Hillington Renault / Dacia / Alpine, 454 Hillington Road, Glasgow G52 4FH;

  7. The winner will be notified by email or telephone (using details provided at entry) on or within one week of the draw taking place on Wednesday 14th December 2022. Participants must provide a postal address to claim their prize. In the event of a delay caused by, or arising from or in relation to, a Coronavirus epidemic or pandemic that prevents or delays notification of the winner, Beatson Cancer Charity shall notify the winner as soon as reasonably practicable and notify entrants of any delay. Beatson Cancer Charity shall make all reasonable efforts to contact the winner. If a winner does not respond to Beatson Cancer Charity within 20 days of being notified by Beatson Cancer Charity, then the winner's prize will be forfeited, and Beatson Cancer Charity will be entitled to select another winner in accordance with the process described above;

  8. The prize will be provided to the winner in person within 20 days of being notified of their win. In the event of a delay caused by, or arising from or in relation to, a Coronavirus epidemic or pandemic that prevents or delays delivery of the prize to the winner, Beatson Cancer Charity shall notify the winner as soon as reasonably practicable of a delay and arrange for delivery of the prize as soon as reasonably practicable, in accordance with government guidelines relating to a Coronavirus epidemic or pandemic;

  9. The prize is kindly donated by Arnold Clark in support of Beatson Cancer Charity. Beatson Cancer Charity reserves the right to replace the prize with an alternative prize of equal or higher value if circumstances beyond Beatson Cancer Charity's control makes it necessary to do so;

  10. By entering the competition, you are agreeing to Beatson Cancer Charity sharing the details of the winner with Arnold Clark to complete the vehicle registration.

  11. The prize for the winner is non-exchangeable, non-transferable and no cash alternative is offered;

  12. The car prize is taken at the Winner’s own risk. Insofar as is permitted by law, Beatson Cancer Charity, its agents or distributors will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate the winner or accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of taking up the prize except where it is caused by the negligence of Beatson Cancer Charity, its agents or distributors or that of their employees. Your statutory rights are not affected;

  13. Any repair and maintenance work/costs will be the responsibility of the Winner. Arnold Clark will provide relevant Warranty documentation.

  14. The decision of Beatson Cancer Charity regarding any aspect of the prize draw is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into about it;

  15. Subject to obtaining prior consent, the prize winner’s name will be published on the Charity’s website at beatsoncancercharity.org within 7 business days of the draw taking place;

  16. Subject to obtaining prior consent, upon accepting the prize, the winner may agree to take part in promotional activity and the Charity would request the right to use the winner’s name, photographs, and audio/or visual recordings of them in any publicity;

  17. Beatson Cancer Charity will comply with any obligations it may have in relation to reporting information to regulatory organisations with regards to this prize draw;

  18. Participants are deemed to have accepted and agreed to be bound by these terms and conditions upon entry. Beatson Cancer Charity reserves the right to refuse entry or refuse to award the prize to anyone in breach of these terms and conditions;

  20. The prize draw will be governed by Scots law and entrants to the prize draw submit to the jurisdiction of the Scottish courts;

  21. Beatson Cancer Charity is the promoter of this prize draw and is located at The Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre, 1053 Great Western Road, Glasgow G12 0YN, Scottish Charity Number SC044442;

  22. Complaints

Any complaints regarding the Prize Draw should be made in writing to Director of Fundraising, Beatson Cancer Charity, 1053 Great Western Road, Glasgow G12 0YN or by email to car@beatsoncancercharity.org  providing full details of the complaint and supporting documentation.
