Patient Wellbeing

Beatson Cancer Charity’s Wellbeing Centre is a unique space, based on the fourth floor of the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre. This is a haven for patients to escape the clinical ward environment where we welcome both inpatients and outpatients seven days a week.

The atmosphere is calming and relaxing, promoting a sense of warmth from the moment of entering. Many patients will spend long periods of time in the Wellbeing Centre either relaxing, reading a newspaper or taking part in our weekly activities.

Complementary therapies

We have a number of complementary therapies available to inpatients including massage, Reiki, reflexology and podiatry. Our hairdressing service is also available to support inpatients throughout the challenges they may experience, such as hair loss.

We have an experienced wig consultant on site who can supply and fit a suitable wig to suit a patient’s needs and taste. These services continue to play a very important role in helping people with cancer in what can be a very challenging time.
